Stars: Sirius

Source of the second ray

Sirius is one of the ‘big three’—Great Bear-Sirius-Pleiades/—foundations of esoteric astrology. This greater Ray 2 source is stepped down in our solar system by the Sun into the seven rays (actually sub-rays) of our solar system.

Sirius—working in a sevenfold manner through the seven rays and their seven groups as these constitute the active Hierarchy (EA 199)

See the Sirius-Leo-Jupiter triangle for a definition of the term “Hierarchy”. The now-jarring quasi-masonic term “great White Lodge” (also found in the White Eagle books) was another way of describing the same thing.

The energies coming from the sun, Sirius, are related to the love-wisdom aspect or to the attractive power of the solar Logos… This cosmic soul energy is related to the Hierarchy. …the great White Lodge on Sirius finds its reflection and a mode of spiritual service and outlet in the great White Lodge of our planet, the Hierarchy. Relation to Scorpio

Scorpio is under the influence or inflowing energy of Sirius. This is the great star of initiation because our Hierarchy (an expression of the second aspect of divinity) is under the supervision or spiritual magnetic control of the Hierarchy of Sirius. These are the major controlling influences whereby the cosmic Christ works upon the Christ principle in the solar system, in the planet, in man and in the lower forms of life expression. It is esoterically called the “brilliant star of sensitivity”. […] Scorpio is the great constellation which influences the turning point both in the life of humanity and the life of the individual human being. For the first time in the history of both mankind and disciples the energy of Sirius, pouring into the seven groups which form our planetary Hierarchy evokes a response. (EA 197-8)

You have consequently in connection with the path of discipleship the following lines of “influential energy”:

1. Sirius—working in a sevenfold manner through the seven rays and their seven groups as these constitute the active Hierarchy.
2. The Fixed Cross—a fusion of four major energies, pouring into our solar system, on to our planet and through humanity.
3. Scorpio—an aspect of the Fixed Cross, of peculiar and specialised potency upon the Path of Discipleship and preparing, with its tests and trials:
   1. The process of re-orientation, whereby a man mounts the Fixed Cross and leaves the Mutable Cross.
   2. The disciple for the first, second and third initiations. After the third initiation, its peculiar testing potency is no longer felt. (EA 199)

In the tropical zodiac chart, Sirius is at 13° Cancer (Sidereal 19° Gemini), although—as with other larger cosmic influences—likr Ray 2 it can pervade a chart through correspondence, rulerships, sign rays, etc.
