Triangles: Leo Capricorn Pisces

Signs conveying the rays 1-3 from the GreatBear, Sirius, Pleiades

This is a “horizontal” triangle formed by the series Leo-Saturn-GreatBear etc. (G series1). Also a Shamballa triangle: various kinds of the princile of will. See rulers Venus-Uranus-Pluto.

in relation to these simple triangles [G and N series], certain interlocking triangles also emerge, as for instance [this] zodiacal triangle of Leo-Capricorn-Pisces and the allied planetary triangle of Mercury-Saturn-Uranus. These two … pour their six streams of force into our three planetary centres at this time, vitalising and stimulating the planetary triangle of Shamballa-Hierarchy-Humanity [behind which are the “big 3” of the primal] cosmic triangle … GreatBear-Sirius-Pleiades. This “horizontal” triangle simply links the 3 signs involved, while the other (Mercury-Saturn-Uranus) connects the related planets.

This triangle of signs has manifested with particular potency 3 times in the history of humanity, the third occurrence started 1875, achieved momentum in 1925, peaked in 1945, declined slowly until 1975. … Add to these the emerging energy of Aquarius and you have four energies which are playing upon [humanity] and producing peculiar effects—both destructive and constructive. coming of the Sons of Mind to the Earth during the Lemurian2 age [when Gemini was the fourth energy and the effect was on the mental plane] and once in the Atlantean period [with Sagittarius the fourth energy and the effect on the physical plane] at the climax of the conflict between the Lords of the Dark Face and the Lords of the Shining Countenance. …it bought about the destruction of the humanity of the time, but released the indwelling life for further experience and development (EA 537-8)

The greater effect this time (the 3rd active phase) is due to the increased sensitivity of humanity. These influences affected the organisation behind WWII, which involved all 3 kingdoms in nature, climaxing in the 4th (human). It is:

responsible for the use of mental power on a vast scale, notably in the material sense as at present and for the achievement of human desire, plus the self-will of an evil few, who … respond to the lower aspects… It is also responsible for the mounting will-to-good in the awakening many (EA 539, published 1951)

in this group of three sets of triangles—making nine all told—with their interlocking analogies and lesser triangular relationships and … points of fusion, you have … the entire story—past, present and future—of human evolution’ (EA 449)

Major points of human evolution

This triangle contains three of the five signs of major conditioning importance to the unfoldment of the Human Hierarchy (EA 426)

Produces changes in human consciousness in contrast with the other main big 3 triangles—the signs of which are Aries-Cancer-Leo (EA 416)—which:

concern the spiritual spect of the planetary life and of humanity, as well as the other kingdoms in nature (EA 449)

Reflects the primacy of the 3 rays of aspect (see EA 430-433):

three major constellations… each pour through three of the zodiacal constellations [the 7 ray triangles], thus forming great interlocking triangles of force. Thus nine of the zodiacal constellations are involved [ray triangles 1, 2 and 3], and these in turn fuse and blend their energies into three major streams of force upon the path of initiation. Part of the fundamental groups of triangles mentioned early on the in the science of triangles section in EA and related to the initial triangle Greatbear-Sirius-Pleiades as reflected in the three planetary centres of Shamballa, the Hierarchy and Humanity (EA 427, 435), these are three groups of triangles of major importance to humanity at this time …which reach through space to the individual. (EA 421) The groups are the layers of relationships through which these big 3 are expressed (via constellations, signs, planets, planetary and human centres). This triangle is a horizontal slice through the signs layer of these three triangles and their corresponding relationships.

In this horizontal triangle, the 1st, 3rd and 2nd ray energies—transmitted via Leo-Capricorn-Pisces to Shamballa, the Hierarchy and Humanity via the head, ajna and heart centres, first of the planet, then of the disciple, and eventually controlling the base of the spine, throat and solar plexus centres—are mediated by Mercury-Saturn-Uranus in the order below.

It may be that the apparently odd planetary connections represent their esoteric effect on the disciple in the current world cycle (or as AAB says at this time):

The influences of this specific triangle dominate the present world situation (at the time of writing, 1951), but are potent in their oft unrealised effect upon the individual people and bring about changes in [individual’s] centres just as they have wrought corresponding changes in the three planetary centres. The response of individuals will be conditioned by their rays, egoic and personal and their place in their own evolution:

first ray disciples will… respond to the Shamballa influence, transmitted from Leo and Saturn, more easily than will second ray disciples. These will in turn react more rapidly and consistently to the Hierarchy, transmitting energies from Pisces and Uranus. With disciples on odd-numbered rays the impact of Shamballa force … will be of a personality nature. …stimulation of the heart centre with a consequent control of the solar plexus centre should be the planned result. It is not yet safe for the aspirant or disciple to relate the head centre and the base of the spine in response to a definite and conscious appropriation of the Shamballa force.

the influence (via Mercury) to which the individual disciple will respond most easily as a line of least resistance, offering opportunity [or] disaster if wrongly handled. Right response will lead … nearer the door of initiation; wrong response … back into the depths of crystallisation and of concretion … The awakening of the ajna centre with the consequent control of the throat centre requires two conditions…:

  • A conscious orientation towards the soul and towards the Hierarchy.
  • A deep love for humanity … based on mental perception and intuitive understanding and not on emotional reaction.
